The weavers of The Thread Project: One World, One Cloth have volunteered their looms, time and talent to weave individual panels of the World Cloths. Information about individual weavers is listed under each cloth.
Panels were woven in: Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, El Salvador, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Israel, Lesotho, South Africa, The United Kingdom and the United States. The panels were woven in schools, libraries, community gatherings, cooperatives and in private studios.
In times past, in various parts of the world, special cloths were woven as prayers for individuals, family and community. It was believed these cloths, made with deep intention, would attract the desired blessings. These cloths were considered sacred cloths, cloths to be "lived into," and their making was holy work. In the same manner, the weavers of The Thread Project have undertaken the holy work of weaving thousands of threads into a contemporary cloth of diversity, tolerance and compassionate community.
